Yanbu’s diary

My diary about Yanbu’s trip

Day one

I slept poorly today, but I'm excited about my trip. It's been a year since I visited Yanbu; I missed the sea. On the road, it started to rain; it was a good start.

After 2 hours of driving, I finally saw the sea. It was dark, but the moonlight made it clear; its reflection on the sea was magical.

It was 2 a.m., and the sea ran away when I came, leaving me with the muddy ground; I could see what the water was hiding underneath it. It looks impressive but holds many beautiful creatures and nasty, dirty things. How amazing is that?

It was my first time seeing a seagull flying at night; a little bird also walked on the muddy ground. He stood there for 10 minutes and could not see what he was doing, but maybe he was hunting some small fish or crabs. The moon is in the middle of the sky, hiding between the clouds. He is sad because the sea has stopped moving. Maybe the sea wanted to be quiet so we could relax and not be bothered by its movement. It does not know that I came here to listen to it and enjoy its activities.

There were three cats, one male and two females. They all looked alike, and they were super friendly and playful, especially one of them – she walked with us, meowed with cuteness, then lay down and rubbed her body on the sand to show us some affection. However, the weather here is changeable; everything happens in one minute once it is breezy and hot. I'm happy because This is the First time I have stayed late with the sea.

Day two

We changed the resort and went to a hotel. We felt isolated because we were the only guests there. It felt like I was in prison or someone was punishing me. I lost me there. I lost my smile and my excitement for the vacation. I'm glad to come here to see people, and from today, I'm really in Yanbu.

We went to the beach today, the first day of my life that I saw this number of cats at once, and they were all fighters. The story is that two little kittens were fighting with crows, which is so funny. The tiny kitties were so brave, but the crows were a fraud. They watch and follow them, then attack them from behind, mainly from their tails; that's a coward's move. Anyway, last week, I read a comment on Instagram about someone whose grandpa has a journal from 1939. He wrote about World War 2 and what happened at that time. The grandpa is dead, but the daughter lost the diary. I feel sorry for her; she lost a precious memory of her dad. That made me regret not starting to write my journal sooner. I wanted to see how I was thinking and how much I grew throughout the years- at least, I'm glad I started documenting my life and journey on my twines. That helped me a lot. So, I bring my laptop here; writing in front of the sea is a joy. The smell of the sea is healing my soul, and it's moving from the time we came here.

Day three

We went out and about today; we enjoyed our time here. I love Yanbu; the city is small but has everything. The environment is peaceful and relaxing. Everything Is moving so slowly with blessing. I wish to live here or live in a place like this. I love small towns that have everything yet are quiet and easy to live in.

Furthermore, People here are super friendly and polite, not bothered from us; they mind their business.

We came to the beach at 1:30 a.m. Nobody was there except us.

The cats here are very different from the resort's ones. They are not friendly, but most are bold and brave; even though they are tiny kittens, they fight each other while trying to hunt birds and crabs. However, I noticed they did not sleep, always looked for food, and were never content.

Also, small fishes swim near the beach, and seagulls fly more than usual today. There are birds at this time.!! I'm surprised to see birds on 2 a.m. wired. This is our last day. It was a wonderful trip. I loved it a lot. I'm glad I did it. I feel less heavy, and I now have more energy for everything. I'm writing in front of the sea again for the last time, and what a fabulous end to my holiday this is. I'm sad to leave here. I wish to stay and be around the sea for more time, but I know this will not be my last trip to Yanbu, which excites me.

Day four

I forgot how Yanbu streets are unique, and there is not much traffic; traveling in the afternoon is a pain. The sun is too hot, I'm not getting enough sleep, and I'm exhausted. I was sleeping, and then I woke up with the car moving away from its direction; we almost had a car accident because the driver was sleepy; I was trifid. I wished to get home alive. After this fantastic vacation, I felt energetic and more ready to tackle life again; I'm glad to return home safe and sound.
